Parasol Mushroom

The Parasol Mushroom – lat. Macrolepiota procera – can be found in the Carpathian Mountains during late summer and autumn. The mushroom is growing alone or scattered in woods or at the edges of woods, or in pastures and along trails. It is a very sought after and popular fungus in Europe, due in part to its large size, seasonal frequency and versatility in the kitchen.
The height and cap diameter of a mature specimen may both reach 40 cm. The parasol mushroom has a mild taste.
Preparation proposal: use only the cap and frie it on a pan with bearleek butter and fresh bread
