Weekend lunch at the manor

And there is a shop. The cheese, charcuterie, wine and preserves you meet on the menu are integrated in the dining room — together with gifts and things to take home. See the shop →

Farm-to-table

What lunch here is like

Farm-to-table is more than a dining concept—it’s a philosophy that celebrates transparency, sustainability, and authentic flavors. At its heart, farm-to-table means sourcing ingredients directly from local farms and producers, ensuring the shortest possible journey from soil to plate.

This approach supports local agriculture, reduces environmental impact, and guarantees the freshest, most flavorful ingredients. Every meal becomes a connection to the land, the seasons, and the dedicated farmers who nurture our food with care and tradition.

Most of what we cook grows here or within an hour of here.

This is not fine dining. It is compact, seasonal food shaped by Buzău’s soil: bread from the wood-fired oven, soups, house ferments, artisanal cheeses and charcuterie, hand-made pasta from Berca, locally sourced meat and a dessert of the day. We keep to local traditions and classic recipes, and reinterpret them with a light international touch.

The large majority of our ingredients come from our own production and from a trusted network of thirty farmers and artisanal makers in the Slow Food Buzău community and nearby. Every year we work with them to raise that share a little further. If you want to take some of it home, our shop is integrated in the restaurant.

One menu, changed every week

We cook a short seasonal menu and publish it a few days before the weekend. What you see on the menu page is what will be on the table.

Not a classical restaurant

There is no long card and no fast service. Everything is prepared fresh on the day, so come without hurry.

Vegetarian dishes always

Every menu includes vegetarian plates alongside the meat. Tell us about allergies or preferences when you book and we will work around them.

Questions

Before you book

Do I have to book, or can I just turn up?

We are a small kitchen and cook only what has been reserved, so a table has to be booked in advance. If you are already nearby and hoping for a place today, send a WhatsApp message — sometimes it works.

What does lunch cost?

Around 100–160 lei per person for three courses, à la carte. Starters and desserts start at 35 lei, main courses at 59 lei. Drinks are extra. You choose yourself from the small daily menu, which we publish with exact prices a few days before each weekend.

Why do I have to pay a deposit?

We are a small place and we buy and cook only what has been reserved, so a no-show costs us the ingredients bought that morning. The deposit is 50 lei per person and it is not an extra charge — it comes off your bill at the table.

Can we come on a weekday?

Not for a normal lunch — the kitchen opens for the public at weekends and on public holidays. For groups of more than six we do open during the week, for lunch, dinner or a guided tasting, by arrangement.

What if we need to cancel?

Tell us as early as you can and we will move or cancel the booking. Deposits can be moved to another date up to 24 hours ahead.

Is there anything for children?

Yes — there are highchairs, the garden is a good place for children to be, and the kitchen will adapt a plate. Mention them when you book so we can seat you well.

How far is it from the Mud Volcanoes?

Twenty minutes by car. Many people visit the volcanoes in the morning and come here for lunch afterwards, which is the order we would recommend.

Coming as a group, or after a tasting?

For more than six people we open during the week as well — lunch, dinner, or a guided tasting of craft beer, organic Dealu Mare wines, artisanal cheeses or Babic. Tell us what you have in mind and we will build it.
